FINITE ELEMENT STRESS ANALYSIS OF IMPLANT SUPPORTED PROSTHESIS ACCORDING TO TYPE OF IMPLANT FASTENING SCREW

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the stresses in implant prosthessis and fixture according to the type of implant fastening screw.
We used a finite element model of cylinder type implant with a diameter of 4mm and a length of 14mm, including hex-lock structure for single prosthesis, and classified the type of screw into three models (T model : titanium screw, G model : g(I-ld screw, I model
titanium screw with IME). After finishing the finite element models,¢¥; the vertical load of 200N to central fossa or the 300. lateral load of 200N at the cusp tip of the prostheses was applied respectively.

The results were as follows ;

1. Under the vertical and lateral load, compressive stress and tensile stress are concentrated on neck of fastening screw.
2. Under the vertical load on, model G is largest and model I is smallest. But under the
lateral force, stress is model T is largest and model I is smallest
3. Under the vertical load, each model showed very large stresses at upper facet of implant
and line angle of external hex, and arround axial wall of supporting screw. 4. lateral load produced more total stresses than vertical load.
